One of my mother’s best friends from high school, after battling breast cancer for 8 months now, was just informed the tumors have gone to her brain and she has 2 months to live. Her first grandchild is due to be born at the end of August and all she wants is to see her first grandchild. Please say a prayer for a miracle and for her and her family as they go through this extraordinarily difficult time.
Threw styrofoam and other assorted pieces of trash at Haley and Sean on the highway
Had multiple Chinese fire-drills
Was outclassed at Oakland Beach with my classy friends
Went to a carnival
Scared Alison and Sean on the Ferris Wheel
Gave my underwear to Catherine Costakos and Amanda Jacober for a scavenger hunt
Beasted the spinning tea cups and got nauseous
Shared popcorn with Juliet
Dipped my feet in the bay
Played bucket in the grass
Had a pickup game of “red rover” with people from Johnston, which had 20 audience members and were broken up by the cops
Avoided traffic and getting pulled over by the cops with sean
And on top of it all, it was so beautiful, I had the top down from 11am-11pm.
Although today was fun, I am saddened to think that these are the beginning of the end of my high school memories and my time in Rhode Island. I’m not even sure if I will be living in Rhode Island next summer. My aunt owns an apartment in Brooklyn and during the summer lives in Fire Island. She wants me to live in her apartment next summer so I can keep up a job and watch her place. I’m not positive yet, but I have a feeling when I leave for New York in the fall, I won’t be coming back all the much.
It are times like these that will make me miss home more than ever.
Yes! Brendan and I were talking about creating a blog site for everyone going to New York next year, but we decided to all make our own. It is a beautiful day out, so I decided to post with my laptop on my porch and get cracking with this blog. Expect many nail-bitting stories and heart-wrenching tragedies. Enjoy this awesome day!
